The choreography is somewhat like a dance jest, employing the classical pas de deux to portray the joint passage of a man and a woman through life, their individual desires, harmony and disharmony, separation and seeking of their selves, before ultimately arriving at the serene conclusion that the couple’s relationship can only properly function if they swap their roles, with the woman becoming a man and the man a woman.
